On Wednesday evening startet their "South African Kick-off" tour in Europe (together with the Band Macstanley from Cape Town), first stop was in Düsseldorf. Hylton is missing on this tour because he is ill.
In the gallery you see some pictures from the soundcheck and the concert at the Savoy theatre.
Here's Watershed's setlist from that evening:
Watershed's planning to do some promotion an German radio stations. So watch out this space for more information to come!
As promised last year Watershed will return to Germany in 2010! Apart from one concert in Zurich/Switzerland there will be 10 concerts in german cities. The first one is on 14 April in Düsseldorf.
Here's a summery of the tour dates (for detailed information please visit the dates site):
For bringing you into the right mood please visit the gallery where you can find (amongst others) pictures of the tour 2009.
Right on time to the German tour Watershed is going to release their 'Best of' album called "A Million Faces / 20 Hits - 10 Years" on 16 April. Asa you can guess from the title Watershed's now in the business for 10 years. So it's time to look back but also to look forward as there are apart from well-known hits like "Indigo Girl" and "Closing Down" some new songs as well as a live track and a remix! So it pays of to buy the abum even if you've got all the others already!
In the diskography overview you can get the whole track list.
WATERSHED-NET underwent a relaunch with a new design. There are still some contents missing but I'm going to fill the gaps soon.
Everyone who happened to visit a Watershed concert within the last months can consider himself fortunate: Watershed will probably never show up in this line-up again! Drummer Tulsa Pittaway, bassist Vernon "Hodge" Hodgetts as well as keyboardist Graham Smith have left the band to persue new ventures.
There were several replacesments in the history of the band but never before to such an extent. Tulsa and Hodge were members for seven years, Graham for four years.
At the moment Watershed is made up of Craig and Nic as well as Lizzie who is temporarily back in the band since April 2006.
I lament Tulsa's, Hodge's and Graham's choice very much and I will try to keep you updated on their new projects.
Watershed was voted as best local band 2006 at the Leisure Options Awards! They already received this desired award two years ago. Congratulations!
In mid of November Watershed released their first DVD ever! "Watershed live - A Simple Explanation" shows scenes from their latest equally named tour in October, Behind the scenes, Making ofs and six videos.
Two extracts of the DVD can be watched at the official website (see "DVD" ).
A release in Germany in planned (just as several other things), but if and when this is going to happen we'll have to wait and see...
Last but not least some news of private nature: Craig's announced his engagement with Natalie Pestana. Craig and Natalie, who works for the band's management, are a couple for many years. No wedding
date has been set.
All the best!
I've got bad news for all German fans: the planned tour from Aug 31st - Sep 22nd (as support act for Joshua Kadison) has been cancelled! Worse luck! But new dates are in debate, I'll keeep you updated!
At last! After almost three years Watershed will tour again in Germany! Together with Joshua Kadison ("Jessie", "Picture Postcards from L.A.") they'll play 18 gigs in August and September - enough chances to see them live!
You find the exact dates in the forum and in the "dates" section! Tickets available at getgo.
As second single "Letters" has now been released in Germany. A similar triumph as in South Africa would be desirable, so I ask all the fans to request the song at the radio stations and to submit it at the radio charts resp. to vote for it!
You can watch the video of "Letters" on Watershed's official website ("media")!
At the instance of the German release of "Letters" I've got a special competition for you: amongst all members of the forum that live in Germany and who sign here in the forum until July 16th I raffle off five copies of the promo cd of "Letters"! (The decision is final, there is no recourse to the courts)
"Mosaic" proves to be extremely successfull - the album's reached gold in South Africa with more than 25.000 copies sold! Congratulations!
Since April Watershed are happy to welcome Lizzie back in the band! Lizzie's already been a member from 2000 to 2002.
This year again the "Joburg Day" takes place! 94.7 Highveld radio asks its listeners to vote for the bands who shall play at that event - Watershed's amongst them! Vote for them and have a chance to win tickets for "Joburg Day" or even backstage passes!
On
May 19th Watershed have won the People Magazine Crystal Award for
best band of the year! The winners were chosen by the readers of the
magazine. Congratulations!
The first single in Germany, "Live Another Day" has reached
various radio charts. Please vote for the song for a good position!
You find all the necessary details in the "Radio"
section and in the forum!
In South Africa the third single of "Mosaic" has just been
released, it's "Far Away"! You can count on an early entry
to several radio charts, please vote for that song as well!
Watershed will support David Gray on two concerts during his South African tour! They will be the support act for the Canadian singer/ songwriter on Jun 9th in Cape Town and on June 11th in Johannesburg.
From May 8th - 12th Craig visited Germany to promote "Mosaic". During these five days he gave numberous interviews for radio, print media and a TV show. At several radio stations such as Radio Ohr, WDR2 and Radio Regebogen "Mosaic" was chosen as the album of the
week! There's always up-to-date detailed info in the forum!
I also had the opportunity to interview Craig. You'll find a transcript here!
Enjoy!
On Saturday evening Watershed won the South African Music Award for "Mosaic" in the category "Best pop album (english)"! After "Wrapped In Stone" hereby they were awarded for the second time in a row with this coveted award (their debut album "In The Meantime" was nominated twice)! Congratulations!
Since last friday the new Watershed single "Live Another Day"
has been sent out to Geman radio stations! For us this means to call
and write to the radio stations to request the song and with that to
support Watershed's comeback in Germany (and Europe)! We'll need every
possible help so please ask your friends and relatives to do the same!
Die adresses and phone numbers can be found at "Band -> Radio".
I you know any other radio stations that are not listed yet and that
would play Watershed please let me know!
"Live Another Day" is only going to be released a a radio single so it can't be bought in the stores. But the album "Mosaic" will be released on May 5th in the record stores (some music portals already offer the album), just a bit later, from 8th to 12th May, Craig will do some radio promotion on German radio stations (more info will follow).
There are
some great news from South Africa as well: their second single there,
"Letters", is extremely successful! At the Top40SA of Highveld
Radio the song's on no.1 for the fourth time in a row, that's a new
record for those charts! Please help and keep voting for the song
so that Watershed can expand that success!
You'll find some more charts to vote for Watershed in the radio
category!
In the meantime "Letters" has been the most played South African song on SA radio stations!
Also this time Watershed are nominated twice for the South African Music Awards (SAMAs)! They could win in the categories
"BEST ADULT CONTEMPORARY ALBUM: ENGLISH" and "BEST
POP ALBUM", both for their current album "Mosaic"!
Congratulations on the nomination and good luck at the award ceremony
on May 6h at Sun City!
I wish you all a merry Christmas and a happy new year!
This year Watershed conquered again their home country with their third
album "Mosaic". In 2006 they're going to release it world wide
- good luck!
Regards,
Meggie
He's been working on it for quite a while - now he's done it: Tulsa
has released his first own song! It's called "Time Today"
and is the forerunner to his first solo album of the same name.
Some to us well-known names as Vernon Hodgetts, Paul McIver and Dino
Dente are involved in this album, too. It's going to be released within
the next few months and it will be available through Tulsa's official
website www.tulsa.co.za.
Please visit the site to find out more about the project.
For those of you who are worried: Tulsa's assured that his solo album
won't affect the work with Watershed!
There's an interview with Tulsa in the current issue of "Drums
and Percussion SA" magazine about "Mosaic" and his solo
album, read it here!
"Live Another Day" is a number
1 song! Last Sunday the song reached the top position at the Homebrew
charts (94.7 Highveld radio)! Congratulations!
You can hear tonight if "Live Another Day" could defend its
high position. Please help to support the song in this and several other
charts. You'll find further details on how to vote in the forum
and the radio section.
For a few days the new designed official website is online! Take a look, there's much to discover, e.g. the new video for "Live Another Day" and some picture of the video shoot. Two exclusive pictures of the video shoot can be found in the gallery on this website as well.
Furthermore I updates the articles section, there are several interesting new articles and interviews.
I wish you all a very happy first Sunday in Advent!
Meggie
Today's the day: Watershed's long anticipated third album "Mosaic"
is released in South Africa! In addition to "Fine Way", which
was already released on the repackage of "Wrapped In Stone",
the album contains twelve brandnew songs. The single "Live Antother
Day" is beeing played quite often on the radio and from now on
will be played on the music television as well: the video clip for the
song, shot by TV advert director Bevan Cullinan, has been presented
alongside the new album at a small launch party last Wednesday. A large
launch concert in Johannesburg for the album is planned for some time
in the next few weeks - I'll keep you informed!
Because of the new album I took the opportunity to make a new design and structure for WATERSHED-NET. I hope you like it.
Today's WATERSHED-NET's 2nd anniversary! I want to thank all of you who have visited my site so far and I hope more will join us! A hearty thanks of course to Watershed who please us so much with their music and therewith brought us together here!
The new album "Mosaic" is going to be released on October 10th and with that Watershed need all our support! Therefore I ask you again to participate in all campaigns to support Watershed and to register on the forum, too to get in contact with each other. Especially if there are fans from South Africa who would like to support our work here and
contribute with some local information I'd be very thankful!
Regards,
Meggie!

album is not long in coming! Watershed will spend August and September

Craig has been writing diligently new songs within the last year, but
also collaborated with several british writers. Best known are two ex-members
of the rock band James, Saul Davies and Mark Hunter, who co-wrote two
songs of the album, amongst them the first single for South Africa,
"Live Another Day".
The album's title might be "Mosaic" and its style is supposed
to be more like "In The Meantime" again. The release date
for South Africa is October, in Europe we'll have to wait until early
2006 (the releases in Germany, Switzerland and Austria are confirmed,
more will follow).
We're are looking forward to what's coming! I'll keep you in the picture!
